weekly digest
dear readers,
I thought that I would begin by telling you all about what I've been reading, watching and listening to in the last week, as well as my weekly ins !!
listened to:
All I Did Was Dream of You?" - Beabadoobee (ft. The Marías)
I adore this new single by two of my absolute favourite artists. It's mildly haunting the way it describes the regret and hindsight of a not-so-perfect relationship. Bea's voice melds perfectly with María's here, and the back and forth between them is truly a wonderful listening experience. It seemed to me quite reminiscent of NFR, María's solo project of 2025, but still with Bea's own lyrical flair.
All I wanted was to see
Everything you see in me
Everything I wanna be, high at sunrise
read:
Should I have 4 books on my TBR? Probably not, but I just truly adore reading anything and everything. Here is what I finished this week:
a breath of life - Clarice Lispector
What an amazing whirlwind of a book. My thoughts are very loose and unorganised at this point, however, it was intoxicatingly confusing, and you could really feel how the lines blurred between the marionette of the author and the supposed 'wild' natures of Angela. It seemed that there was a significant commentary on misogyny, in my view, even if that was not Lispector's intent while writing. It seemed that the author had created Angela to be the immoral yet shameless woman that was so against the convention of obedience at the time. He was fascinated, frightened, and disgusted at her supposed 'passion' and honestly, her 'ability' to write 'better' than he ever could.
watched:
Lewis
One of the many, many series, both book and TV, that I adore is the Endeavour, Morse, and Lewis franchise. I've watched the entirety of Morse, and am in the process of working through both Endeavour and Lewis. Enjoying both immensely!
You've Got Mail
A very interesting and fun rom-com, and I have plenty of thoughts about them. See them in an upcoming blog post soon!
ins:
- headstands and yoga, particularly surya namaskar
- red-painted nails
- studying in the early hours
- hour long walks
